Medio-V is an electrode that is best suited for shielded metal arc welding, SMAW welding was invented in the 1800s which is still in use today with modern upgrades. Stick welding or SMAW process was also being used in world war-1 for building tanks, battleships, fighter jets, etc. The electric arc can reach up to 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit which is required to melt the workpieces or parent metal to add fillers that can join the two pieces together for a long period of time. It is one of the inexpensive welding processes which is widely used across the world.
Medio-V is a mild steel electrode, a medium coated, rutile type all position which makes it a touch-type electrode. The electrode is versatile as it works on both alternating current (AC) & also on direct current (DC). Medio-V is the weld metal that is soft, ductile, metallurgically clean mechanically sound with radiographic quality.
Medio-V is suitable for all mild steel type welding, its typical application includes industrial pipes and tubes, storage tanks, boiler, fireboxes tanks, ships, barges, dredgers, trawlers, tugs rail coaches, etc. The Medio-V electrode is made according to the guidelines of the American Welding Society (AWS), which is an E6013 electrode, and got approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
Medio-V’s is made up of different elements such as carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, and phosphorus. Which makes this electrode the best in class.
